Looks very similar to Baya weaver but have heavily streaked breast and flank. Breeding males have yellow crown, dark head and neck. Juveniles and females have yellow supercilium, and heavily streaked crown,nape and rump. Nesting on tall grasses near water bodies. Habitat: reedbeds and seasonally flooded areas.
