Looks: Larger than similar looking Lesser sandplover with longer bill (the length of bill is longer than the distance between bill base to rear of eye) having pointed tip. Usually the culmen bulges from half of its length towards the tip. It has long paler legs with yellowish tinge, which extends beyond tail during flight. Breeding male shows rufous breast with white throat and black eye band, females lacks eye band. The rufous on breast is less extensive than in breeding Lesser sandplover. Lives: Coastal areas, estuaries.
