A winter visitor in Sri-Lanka. Rarely winters in Kerala. Unmistakable and Attractively coloured. Chestnut crown, mantle and wing patch, have golden yellow scapulars, yellow throat and turquoise underparts. White forehead and blue supercilium. Tail streamers are relatively shorter. Habitat: open country, cultivation and near waterbodies.
