Looks: White egret with long neck and legs. Black gape line extends behind eye is the best thing to separate it from similar looking Intermediate egret. Breeding birds have black bill, bluish lores and plums on mantle. ( Intermediate egret has plums on breast in breeding plumage). Non breeding birds have yellowish beak and blackish legs and feet. Lives: River banks, lakes, marshes, estuaries
